Seems like a pretty accurate cross-section of the New York population to me. One dramatic person in crisis who decides to make a grand gesture. Several people who are concerned but don't do much. At least one person who tapes the whole thing assuming everybody else has got it covered. At least one person who gets in there and helps. At least one person on the platform who helps that helping guy. And one screaming person who refuses to let anyone else inconvenience her or disrupt the already useless trains.
"Go die elsewhere!"
